How more people don’t know about this place is b How more people don’t know about this place is beyond me.

Vang Vieng, Laos used to be a party town, but it’s turned itself around completely.

Now? It’s one of the best outdoor destinations in the world for families on a budget.

We spent $77/day total for a family of 4.
That’s food, stay, transport, and activities all in.

āœ”ļø Mountains, lagoons, caves
āœ”ļø $1 street food that hits
āœ”ļø $20 hot air balloons
āœ”ļø Connected by high-speed rail
āœ”ļø Off the beaten path but worth every second

It’s peaceful. It’s stunning. And it’s wildly underrated.

Would you add this to your family travel list? šŸ‘‡

šŸŒ Follow me because I show you real places your family can explore—without breaking the bank.

🤯We’ve heard a lot of opinions since we start 🤯We’ve heard a lot of opinions since we started slow traveling with our kids.

Some kind. Some curious.
Some… let’s just say, unfiltered.

But here’s what I want you to know:

We didn’t choose this life to be different.
We chose it because time felt too short,
childhood felt too precious,
and the ā€œnormal pathā€ didn’t feel like ours anymore.

It’s not about proving anything.
It’s about being present for the little things and the life-changing ones.

So if you’ve ever felt the pull to step off the treadmill and live a little slower
You’re not alone. And you’re not crazy.
You might just be right on time.

šŸ‘‡ Tell me, has anyone ever said something wild when you did something differently?

Flying āœˆļø with little kids can feel massively Flying āœˆļø with little kids can feel massively intimidating.

šŸŒ First, be sure to follow because I share the real stuff about traveling the world with little ones, not just the highlight reel.

We’ve done a lot of these long-haul flights with our kids (as young as 1), and here’s what has truly saved us:

šŸ’§ Water. So much water. You get dehydrated so fast in the air, and it hits kids even harder. We always bring a water bag through security and fill it up before boarding. Jet lag? 90% of the time, it’s worse when you’re dehydrated

šŸ“² Use an app like Timeshifter. It helps you prep your body before the flight so your whole family adjusts faster to new time zones. Game-changer for fighting jet lag.

🧦 Walk the aisle. DVTs (blood clots in your legs) are a real risk on long flights especially for adults. You can opt to wear compression socks, but make it a point to walk the plane every couple hours. Our kids love it, it burns energy and keeps everyone safer.

šŸ“± Screens are ON. We’re super limited with screen time day to day, but on long flights? It’s a survival tool. They zone out, we relax, and eventually they get sleepy. It teaches self-regulation and gives us a little peace.

šŸ· Skip the free alcohol. I know it’s tempting, but it just makes you more dehydrated and sluggish. Trust me, water will do you way more favors.

šŸŽ§ Kid headphones are essential. Not just for entertainment, but to block out engine noise and keep them from accidentally blasting audio in their ears.

šŸ“š Bring something new. A fresh book, a small toy something they haven’t seen before keeps their attention way longer. Bonus points if it doesn’t have a million pieces that’ll roll under the seat at 3am

Flying with kids doesn’t have to be a disaster. With the right prep, it can actually be enjoyable. (Yes, even with a toddler climbing across your lap.)

šŸ‘‡ Comment READY and I’ll send you my free eBook with our full list of tips and things I wish I knew before embarking on full time travel with kids!

Always test the pressure before committing. Your b Always test the pressure before committing. Your bum will thank you.

We’ve used handheld bidets in a dozen countries… but this Airbnb one?

Set to exorcism mode. 😳 One second you’re getting squeaky clean, the next you’re questioning your entire anatomy.

āœˆļø If you’re into family travel tips no one talks about, follow along. I share the real stuff, like when we almost lost a butthole in Penang.

It’s kinda wild how many Americans are scramblin It’s kinda wild how many Americans are scrambling to get citizenship overseas right now.

Regulations are tightening, and people are in full-blown FOMO, either jumping ship with no plan or sitting it out completely, paralyzed by fear.

But here’s the thing:
You don’t have to go all in overnight.
You don’t have to move your whole life tomorrow.

We didn’t.
We slowed down first.

After 10+ years in fast-paced corporate jobs (I was working literal overnight shifts), our bodies were feeling it. Our family was feeling it.
So we took a gap year.
We saved. We planned. We paused.

And now?

We’re safer abroad than we ever were at home.
āœ”ļø Healthcare has been incredible
āœ”ļø People are more patient—with us, with our kids, with life
āœ”ļø Food is better like, actually nourishing
āœ”ļø We get to choose how we educate our kids, and that includes play, movement, and connection
āœ”ļø And yes, even the roads feel safer

This isn’t a ditch-the-U.S. rant.
We love our country.
But this is your reminder that you don’t have to ā€œjump shipā€ to figure out what’s best for your family.

You can travel the world with your kids.
You can explore your options slowly.
You can feel safe doing it.

✨ Ready to stop scrolling and start figuring it out for your own family without pressure, without panic, and without having to jump ship overnight?

šŸŒ Follow me because I’m sharing everything we’re learning from slow traveling full-time with two little kids. How we budget, how we stay safe, where we go, what’s working (and what’s not), and how you can do it too, step by step.
